T. de Thomon, Project of the gates for the mausoleum of Paul I in Pavlovsk (?),(Project of the mausoleum?), 1800s, pencil, watercolour, Pushkin museum of art, Moscow

The mausoleum "To the generous husband"was built after Thomas de Thomon's design in 1807-09 in the Pavlovsk park. Cast iron gates were built nearby. It is possible that this is a preliminary design for the gates that was rejected. The inscription on the gate says: "Cést ici qu'habitant la Fraicheur le silence et des ombres".
